Can anyone tell me if the LS 3.0 has a different coolant manifold (connecting both heads at the rear with temp sensors on it) than the 3.0 Taurus. As I'm putting this engine in in a RWD configuration I'm trying to keep much from protruding beyond the rear of the cylinder heads. As the LS is RWD I'm hoping it's configured with the hose(s) pointing up or to the side.
Thanks,

Sorry, no pics yet. We'll be documenting it well and likely put up a web site with the story but nothing yet. If you want to see what sparked the idea check out this SHO equiped Austin Healey 3000

Brian, You may also want to look at the S-Type 3.0 as it's head design is a little better. They can be had fairly cheap to like the Lincoln.

Just getting started at this point. Only cost is the engine itself so far. $660 shipped to my door. By the way, As of tonite, I have a 3.0 ATX for sale as I got that lump off the back of the engine tonite. I'm about ready to start looking at fitting the Duratec in the TR's engine bay. Biggest concern now is height - I expect I'll need to use the 2.5L intake in order to avoid having to put a bulge in the hood. We're hoping to massage the engine enough to get 200HP at the rear wheels. Full up the car weight less than 2200lbs and I'm planning on using a at least a 3:90 rear end so it should go pretty well. I'll tell my brother to get off his ass and get his server online so we can put up a web site for it.
I'll let you guys know.

What's the difference between the LS 3.0 and the S-Type 3.0? Same Ford engine, right? If not, that's what I was led to believe...
