Gamiller,
The 2002 Taurus carries over from 2001 unchanged with regards to the basic engine. The 2002 Escape carries over exactly from 2001.

The DMD that everyone talks of right now is for the 2.5L front accessory drive setup where the damper is also a pulley for the belt. The typical 3.0L Taurus front accessory drive setup has a separate pulley which bolts onto the damper. Only the Taurus has this setup. The 3.0L Mazda MPV, Escape, and Mondeo ST220 all have the 2.5L style front accessory drive setup. This is why you cannot use the current DMD on the Taurus.

Because the hybrid 3L swap uses the 2.5L front cover, heads, and FEAD setup.
