kinger:
Sorry for the rant here, but I hate the phrase YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY!!!!
Thank YOU. Call me an over-sensitive mama's boy (if you're a total jack***

), but I take offense at the kind of audacity that it takes to assume that most of us don't have the money already. I do. I'm just not stupid enough to drive up to a mechanics shop (no offense, Terry, I don't mean you), tell him to get started and let him
surprise me with a quote at the end of the service period.
All I need is a mechanic knowledgeable enough to know how long the job he's doing is going to take, is willing to communicate with me and isn't afraid to deal with a novice.
It's looking more and more like I'm going to do this 3.0L thing myself. It's not like I don't have the time.
Can anyone just provide estimates! I mean NONE of us have a unlimited budget, but still give me something to plan for!! I hate when I ask "how much for a 300HP crate 3L, and the awnser is YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY!" I mean hwhat ever happened to this:
3L-$500
Rods-$960
bearings-$600
P&P,3L valves -$1500
Cam grinds-$700
Ported LIM, UIM-$500
70mm TB-$200
Engine manamgement-$400
Tras work-$2000
etc, etc
I mean you know I'm good for money,Terry your sitting on some of my money, Brad you are too. I don't think that asking how much a AWD conversion would cost is un reasonable either, I mean $10000, 20000, what, throw me a fricken bone here!
Again,
thank you. I'll take out a loan if I need to. I'm smart enough and quite capable of getting the resources I need to get what I want and I'm not cheap. I'll pay for what I ask for.
What I'm looking at right now is $700 for another 3L block (I already sold one for a profit, since I was kept waiting so long

), $595 for a Quaife, about $750 worth of MTX-75 work, $600 for forged pistons, $900 for connecting rods and about $600 in the remaining parts. The block/rods/pistons/whatever would come in a neat little package. All I want is a labor estimate on putting it all together. I can drop the parts off and pick the parts up myself. I don't live far from the shop I'm taking them to. I don't need the quote publically. The shop I'm talking about has done numerous 3.0L conversions (or so claims to) and should thereby know about how long it takes to swap the top of an SVT motor to the bottom of a 3.0 and drop it in with a Quaife. Great, now I'm ranting. Sorry 'bout that, CEG.
Anyway for anyone that wants to know how much it will cost for a HO NA 3L PM me because I can give you all the details of mine that will be going in, in a month or so.
Sorry I feel better now
Terry PM me on those cam specs because I need to work out something for my head set-up, thank you.
Cam specs. I didn't even know Terry had anything of the sort. You need your own web site, man. Get a move on!
.RMk..
