Could someone build me an engine with about 280-300 horsepower at the wheels and then ship it to me (or else I could pick it up)
A friend of mine is interested in working with me on this project but he does not have any experience with the Ford Contour although he is a very talented engineer/mechanic.
Is there a lot of work required AFTER the install as far as tuning, adjusting, etc that would take specialized knowledge?
Thanks

If you want to play you have to pay...HP = $$$, or DIY...its the same with any car/engine mods.Once you are past the $200 'bolt ons' you get to the serious stuff. Depends on your budget...every time....

Terry, out of sheer curiousity (read I'm poor and in no way can afford this now) what would a rough guesstimate be for a price to do a Jag 3.0 conversion? And how easily could it be made to use the variable valve timing stuff? I know anything is possible for the right amount of money, just curious what the "right amount" might be.

C'mon Terry, where are you when people ask you publicly (or privately, even ) for a quote? I've been after ya for a while now and I still have no idea how much is enough. All I want to know is the cost for average labor time. I can handle all of the parts and whatnot myself. I've already got a 30K mile SVT motor and a 3L block to work with and if it comes down to it, I'm going to do this myself. I just want an idea of what it'll cost to PAY to have it done... since I'm extremely novice with this kind of thing. .RMk..

Back to the old addage, if you really have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it. On the other hand, Terry is probably the only shop I'd ever trust to do the work without a quote.
