well I found out that the head was also dammaged, and the labor to pull and fix is about 12 hours. So why have one head new and one with 90,000. I am going to try and find a 3.0 and the heads. Now here is what i am thinking! eek Should I spend about $2000 for a new motor or find a used (but were)motor for around $700-$1000. Before I put the motor in I will get the headers, and a chip. Were should I get the chip from as well. Well thanks for the help. wink

I want the much power as possible with the stock motor and good CR. (for boost later.)

The questions that arise from your questions are: Who's doing the install? How much are you willing to spend?

My first recommendation is to get a used 3.0 from a 2001 Taurus, add the DMD, a light porting of heads, add the SVT cams. With all that you should be at or around the price of a new engine and have a little left over to offset the install.

If you want new then get one of the LS engines that Terry is selling with the DMD and an electric water pump.

Both would offer the enhanced power your looking for and handle a Turbo later with some extra work(Forged Rods, Trimetal Bearings, Port matched exhaust and intake).

I'm not the most knowledgeable about all this so if I'm wrong. Let me know.
