Hey all,

Would anyone know how to defeat the PATS system in order to transplant an SVT engine/SVT engine comp into a pre 98? I have done all my work with post 98's till' this point so I am a bit in this dark on this particular issue.

Their was a guy that posted a question a couple weeks ago about upper intakes on the SVT engine he installed in his Mk1 Tour. Their must be a way if what he says is true.

PATS - Passive Anti Theft System confused

If swapping puters, you would have a problem, why not just custom burn a chip instead?

There are ways around it, remote starts can be added to vehicles with this feature by using a module that imitates the key.

How to bypass it with out the proper lock cylander or the right key to go with that is beyond me, but it can be done.

You can re-program new keys to the PATS. The first two keys must be done at the dealer, but the dealer can also change the first two keys. From then on you can reprogram extra keys at will.

My advice would be to take the wiring that the pats system uses and have the dealer program two new keys. Or, get the old key and lock cylinder and just swap them in.
