Oh boy, here goes. Iptech and I have decided to call it "square" due to time/money constraints. I will be picking up my 2.5 SVT Durtec with transmission and my brand new 01' 3L block. The intake manifold on the 2.5 has been ported and polished. My dilemma is this: I have currently been pursuing a career as a mechanic and am up for 6 ASE certification tests in May. While I would LOVE the 3L to be an opportunity for me to develop/sharpen my skills and add experience, I also need the money for tools. If I can get enough for this 2.5/3L combo, I will sell it. If not, I will keep the motor and work on it when I can and use it for experience and perform the swap when I can. My question is, is anyone interested in taking this set up over, and if not, what is a reasonable price tag on what I have. Thanks

Bill, did anything ever come of the parts that you were talking about? Or are these factory stock engines?

As far as I know, and Ill know for sure next week when I go get it, is the only thing NOT factory on the motor is that the 2.5 liter intake manifold has been ported/polished. It is a brand spanking new 01' 3L block from ford, and a 2.5 SVT motor/tranny combo with 30k miles on it.

Im not sure yet as to where I will go from this point. Continue on with the build myself is one option, the others are of course turbo (toms 304whp is enticing) or normally aspirated zetec (there is a full interior n/a zetec on focaljet running 13.90's). I also have gotten heavy into suspension/handling so building a road coarse car focusing on suspension is not out of the question with minor motor modifications.

In not keeping with your dream to have a ZX3.0 maybe now is a good time to consider just turbo'ing the Zetec. With the two engines and trannies you're bound to get enough money and then some. Hell, maybe you could send the two V6's, the tranny, and the Zetec engine to Terry, and he sends you back a nice, rebuilt, turbo Zetec. Who knows?
