I'll be interested in seeing DavidZ's engine dyno in a different car.

Has anyone heard any news on this project.

I peeked 'over there', and the motor is in the car and running, along w/ the 3.0 upper. Hmm, 3.0, 2.5 heads, (high CR, small valves) 2.5L LIM and 3.0 UIM, then quasi-dual exhaust. Let the motor breathe, then choke it down, then let it breathe again, then choke it down again w/ the quasi-dual exhaust? Why? Congrats on the project and that it's running though.... John

Good call Jugs....but you know that what they are doing is the only way to do it right? No sense in offering advice or even common engine building sense..... Nikolas

You are correct in that the car is running but you were wrong on the car being "choked". Just the opposite in fact, the car has... 1.) a 1999 3L short block 2.) ported and polished SVT high-comp heads 3.) the valves flow just as much as larger valves do as the opening that the valves "seat" in is the same where the valves are larger or smaller, only so much air can flow through the same sized hole 4.) the LIM is a 3L piece with some custom mods to make everything work 5.) the UIM is also a 3L piece with improved airflow characteristics 6.) the secondaries are fully functionaly thanks to a customed designed IMRC 7.) a custom manufactured intake has been installed an now occupies the area where the battery used to reside 8.) gutted pre-cats 9.) the engine ran incredibly well with the stock Y-pipe and exhaust but... 10.) this week it receives a fully custom Y-pipe and cardoc exhaust system design especially for this particular vehicle 11.) and maybe the biggest part of the whole set-up, 24-lb injectors that finally gives this engine the fuel it needs
The car runs very, very strong and already has all the ricers and turbo junkies in the area shaking when it pulls up to a stop-light. I can't wait to put it back into my garage in the next couple of weeks, as its been under construction since Jan. 2ond.
I look forward to posting a complete wrap up and numerous pics on fordcontour.org upon completion of the project, but until then, I am too busy attemtping to finish the beast and more importantly trying to find a JOB and plan a WEDDING, both of which take precidence over all else.
And finally, a quick word of good luck to all the other 3L and forced-induction Contours and Cougars in the works. It is truly an exciting time for these platforms!

One question: What are you going to use to control the bigger injectors and properly attain an air/fuel ratio that will produce max power? I only ask because I have seen Cardoc say he doesn't like the S-AFC. I can guarantee that the stock PCM won't do it and will throw rich CELs within a few days. Been there, done that.
Custom chip is the best way to go IMHO. "Ford 80 mm MAF calibrated for 24# injectors" is not a valid answer.
