Ok guys...After surgery and whatnot, I have alot of time off and would like to persue a 3L conversion.

Current engine mods:
yodude catless y
borla catback
kkm intake
fms 9mm wires
ngk idriums

so pretty basic stuff. my question is, with the 98 engine, what would be the best route to go with the 3L? What is the best setup, and what parts would I need to obtain? Also, is there anyone in the eastern pa area that has any experience with this? I'm not a retard, and I would be able to assist along the way, I have rebuilt my fair share of motors, just no experience with the 2.5's and 3's.

If possible, i'd like to obtain a complete list of what all I would need, and what combination of parts to use together.

I wouldn't be any help, but I'd like to watch. Having a 3L this close is too good to pass up. Hope your recovery goes quickly.

Since I am a retard (well, not really), I paid somebody to do mine. I'd be a good helper, but not a good leader. I advise to go with the 3.0 heads or somehow reduce compression if you are using the 2.5 heads. Timing at WOT is killing me.

This FAQ is always a good start.

I have a E0 also. I went with the 3L with 3L heads. I used a 01' engine since it uses the camshaft driven waterpump. Some porting needs to be done to the heads on the intake ports cause of the different shape. I have plenty of info you wouild like just get in touch.
