I have a 95 Mystique with the OBD1 in it. Will this make the 3.0L swap more difficult? Will I have to change anything to make up for the older diagnostics? I'm just beginning to research the 3.0L as I now have 140k on my car.

Thanks...

Thanks for the info Terry. laugh Your PM was full so I couldn't write you back. Do you know if there is anybody out there who has done the swap on a 95? I am definitely interested in solving this problem. You can email me at rpaunovich@mediaone.net

That is me as well. I hope to start getting parts for mine pretty soon. I am hoping to use an entire 3 liter engine.

Come on, Terry! Why not make this public? Lots of anxious '95 owners itching to find the answer to this.

Yeah we can do that. My plans right now are'99 or so entire engine. Then the mods to make it fit. The eletric water pump(of course) SVT fly wheel,SVT motor mounts, Grizzly clutch. The big plug wires from Ford. I am thinking I am going to have to chip it. If I have any money left I will go headers. One question, If I cant go with the aftermarket headers, Which manifolds should I go with, the 2.5 or the 3 liter?

This is exactly what I'm planning on doing...but I want to use the 2.5 heads for a higher CR. I just figured out how much I'm getting back from the IRS.........lets just say I'm defininitely doing this, I want it done by Spring Zing!

2.5 manifolds, because the 3 liter ones won't fit. Headers will fit also without problem. The only real problem you'll face is the injectors issue. You either need to find a side feed 19-24pph unit, or (this way's easier IMHO) swap out some of the wiring harness, the fuel rails, and injectors from a newer return fuel system car. A customized ECU of some sort will also be needed (i.e. Superchips, Apexi, or some stand alone unit).

OBD-I is actually easier to "fool" because it "knows" less about the car's functions. It also makes you rely on a little more tuning knowledge rather than a computer system to tell you what to do.
