I thought I would pass this along to the 3.0L clan, I got my new issue of Mustang Fast Fords and theres a great article in there regarding a product called the EEC-Tuner. They provide a new reprogramable chip and all of the needed software. This is not a piggy back chip, with a laptop it seems that all of our tuning problems are over? right? Anybody bought one yet? laugh

Brad Noon and some others are discussing it in the "Performance" section.

I assume that using the 3.0l PCM is out of the question because of a number of differences between the Taurus and Contour???

Not necessarily. With the 3.0 PCM and harness it should work. But nobody has gone that route as far as I know. I do know that Terry Haines suggests doing just that every chance he gets.

Is the Taurus wiring harness different than the svt? I have the taurus harnes including the pcm plug, and they seem to have all the same plugs. I didn't look closely though.
Will the chip from the taurus work in the svt pcm?

I figured doing the pin out was the easy part. I was concerned about the software. Terry gives me the impression that we may not have a need to worry about the s/w. Wouldn't that just be beautiful if all I have to do is swap out my PCM when I finish the rebuild of my 3.0L.
