I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed by this task that I have taken on. Things don't seem to be as straight forward as I had thought. I had planned on replacing my exhaust headers with the MSDS setup but now I understand that they are not a straight bolt on but require some modification. I can't seem to find a repitable shop that can replace my differential with the Quaife and repair what ever is causing my transmission to leak. On top of that, I'm still a little apprehensive about filling and blocking these packages on the new block.

This project is making me very nervous because if I mess it up, that's it. I guess I just need some words of encouragement.

Send your block and trans to Brad Noon with a little bit of money!

No offense to you or anything, but if you are this unsure about the project you need to take some classes or find someone else to do it. Swapping an engine is not for the faint of heart nor is it for someone that has absolutely no experience doing so. This is not to say it can't be done, but I would highly recommend that you look up your local community college or tech institute and take some basic mechanics courses at the VERY LEAST if you have no background in the automotive industry.

Don't feel bad that you may not know either, I sure as hell don't know enough yet to take something like that on. It really is a lot of work, no matter what the experienced guys tell you, it is complicated. They just have a lot background in engine building so it may be a cake walk for them.

I am in no way discouraging you here at all, instead I am encouraging you to research and learn as much as you can before playing around with your car. Knowledge is power and if you are this unsure about what is going on with your engine you don't have enough knowledge about engine building yet. I would suggest you take your time and be patient. Do some more research, take some classes, and do this swap right.

I'm one of Terry's students and trust me, it was worth every last penny.

Folks,

I'm not ready to give up yet. The tech manuals just aren't as detailed as I would have hoped. Hopefully, with the knowledge this group has, I'll be able to successfully swap my engine. I have no choice but to do it and I am quite a ways in to it. I have a couple of motor heads in my corner so I'm not completely alone in this project.

This must be a mandatory step in doing the 3.0. I was paying someone to do it and I even told myself that I should have just bought a junkyard engine at one point. It is overwheming because there is always "something small" that pops up (modular? hah!), but trust me, you will be fired up when it hits the road. Hang in there. cool
