Hey all,
I just installed my bat intake pipe i got from SP moto in MD. I didn't think it would do all that much but I am happy with it. It it the aluminum pipe that goes between the MAF and TB (for those not sure). Well I am happy with the reults and performance of the pipe. No dyno results, just butt dyno, but the car runs much healthier

thanks for the post, I thought they were more of a dress up mod than a performance mod.

BAT pipe claims to produce slight gains. No "butt" dyno improvement can be felt from it - probably a placebo affect. You wont feel a 1hp gain. I didn't feel any improvements with mine. Mike, do you have an intake of any kind? That's where you'll feel gains.

I think I will feel gains above the placebo effect. I have done some pretty solid mods to the car, intake maf porting, iat 5 ohm mod, tb butterfly bar cut down, sho shop stainless y pipe with cat, no res, 6 inch k&n modded with same size intake diameter as the maf bolted straight to the maf and a chip. sorry to say it but the bat intake pipe does yield more than 1 horsepower. More importantly, it smoothes out the powerband, and no I do not have dyno proof. it really doesn't matter anyway, i like it and i was just sharing info.

No offense meant, Mike. Just making an observation based on personal experience. What kind of gains (hp) do you think the BAT pipe provides? Looks like I'll have to swap the BAT pipe and stock accordian during my dyno run to see what happens.

I've had mine on for awhile and noticed no real difference. Since I now have KKM, MSDS and Bassani, I think I will swap to see if I "feel" a difference. I was thinking about dumping it seeing as when I was at the track, it retained a ton of heat and cooled slower than the accordian pipe. I understand that it smooths air flow, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trade off of heat retention. Like I said, I plan to dyno a bunch of different mods, and will post results when I do so! ~Pete

yes, i know it is difficult to see the tone, especially on some of the main boards. the pipe does retain heat, but does provide better flow. it is a trade off, but if you can keep it cool, i think it does add an extra bit of ummmph. lemme know how you dyno test goes.again, nothing personal taken, it's all about fun.

No one really mentioned the best part about that pipe, IT LOOKS AWESOME!!! Screw the minimal gain/loss that may or may not be had with it! The accordion pipe looks like a flaming pile of shat next to the BAT pipe! I'm a BAT pipe snob now. I can't look at an engine without it and think good thoughts (kidding). Had to say something for the all show no go crowd. Oh, and just for another opinion, I didn't feel any difference with mine, all I have is the KKM though, stock exhaust.
