For your R/T, wait until you see a full yellow on the 3rd light and HIT IT, don't wait for the green or your R/T will be very slow and your opp will get a big lead... As far as launch, try around 3500 RPMs, if that creats to much wheel spin or hop, try at around 3000-3250 RPMs untill you have a nice smooth launch, or just say the hell with it and launch at 6000 RPMs :p

Gladiator : Racing an ATX is simple, hold the brake with 1 foot, and touch the gas with your other foot, give it just enough to where you feel the car pulling a little and that would be a decent launch for you... If you think you can give it a little more gas at the launch go for it, if to much, back it off a little... SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE

i'd shift at 6600, and I also powershift (some people like it some don't) which keep the footin it all the way thru, and push in clutch...etc

WHAT!!! eek eek eek

ISN'T THERE A GOOD CHANCE YOU'LL BLOW YOUR DIFFERENTIAL IF YOU LAUNCH AT 3500RPM? NOT EVEN FUNNY TO SUGGEST LAUNCHING @6K TO SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T KNOW BETTER. BOOM GOES YOUR DIFF & TRANNY & DRIVE SHAFTS, ETC.

NOT COOL... eek

In the SVT you want to shift a hair before redline in every gear. It makes power well past the stock redline so use as much of your powerband as possible.

I would start launching with a 3000 rpm clutch slip and adjust from there. What ever you do, if it hops, push in the clutch and/or let off the gas. Wheel hop can be fatal.

You are better off having a little wheel spin then bogging the engine too...
