The facts: My second trip to the strip Venom working well 60HP N20 (75% TA & 4000 RPM) 75 & sunny, not too humid, cooler for run #2 A million people there Tire pressure change at the advice of someone else Bridgestone S-03 Run 1 Run 2 Time 7:58p 8:57p Tire Press. 28 14 RXN = 1.105 1.176 60ft = 2.536 2.432 1/8 ET = 9.982 10.215 1/8 MPH = 76.93 71.30 1/4 ET = 15.190 15.617 1/4 MPH = 94.32 90.95 So I failed. I guess I'll have to go back and do it right. Feel free to take any and all rips, criticisms, low blows and other wise laugh at my expense. Mark

Screw the RT (unless you are actually racing someone - ask Iceman22 about that). My best run to date had a 2.5 second RT. The staging area was not flat, so we kept rolling around out there. Hard to time the launch while trying not to roll out of the box. I had a solo, so I just let the lights go green, then did the launch at my own pace.
I end up putting this in every drag thread, so here goes: 60 60' 60' 60'
What'd you do, miss a shift on the 2nd run? The 1st run has that, ahem, launch but you got down the track PDQ after that. Oh wait, I see. 14 psi - that was not so SMRT. Higher pressure = LESS rolling resistance. Just don't go too high on the fronts.

no missed shift, not only rolling resistanc, but some also comment than with tires so flat that diameter has dropped, acting as gearing shift? I assume he means that for same number of revolutions, the tire travels a shorter distance. I will run at 20# next time. Mark Ps thanks tim

Lowering the tire pressure of low profile street radials will lessen the contact patch and give you less traction & more rolling resistance. Run a normal pressure in front & 40psi or more in the rears. I run at 36/40 at the track. Slip the clutch from around 2500-2800 rpm and go from there.

Reaction time doesnt hurt your quarter, but it sure looks better when you have a decent light on a slip.
