Was just wanting some general info. Just bought the car about 1 week ago.
Wanting to know stuff like horsepower and 1/8 mile times if anyone knows this stuff.
It's a SE 4 cylinder. Says VCT I think on the valve cover.

Stock hp/tq was rated at 130/135 for the 4 cylinder (Zetec). What trans do you have auto or manual? Welcome to the CEG.

It's a automatic tranny.

low 17's in the 1/4, not blazingly fast, but outruns a new lancer. thats about it...
*fixed* 1998.5 Contour SE Zetec No Cat, SVT Dual Exhaust, 2 N1 Mufflers, IAT , Diablo Chip, Iceman Intake, Polished TB, "new tranny"
Various other crap, no more mods for a while, just moved.
17.391 @ 81.03 mph

They aren't sending it over any time real soon. They'll send a "downgraded" model mid next year at the earliest. Whoopie, another $23K turbo car that only has 230 crank HP. I'd rather pay for the Pontiac Solstice (under $20K), and it's a S/C 2.2L making 240 HP (plus it looks a hell of a lot better). Oh, and it's a convertible

An EVO also costs 30,000 or more, almost as much as two new Lancers.
I do know that my old 97 Zetec ATX beat the yuppie base Jettas all over downtown Chicago. That was good enough for me!
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO. Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!
