Just got back from Rockingham dragway. Made three runs. It was about 55 degrees.

I let the car cool down and iced the intake for about 1 hr before making the first run. I didn't do a burnout, just did a dry hop to clean the tires. I launched at about 2000 and bogged the motor pretty bad, as the 60' time shows.

330' 6.626
1/8 9.811@78.09
1000' 12.497
1/4 14.774@96.71

I iced down the intake for about another hour before I ran again. I did a pretty healthy burnout this time, and launched at about 3000. I let out the clutch pretty quick but did not just dump it. This produced a little bit of wheel spin. I got my best 60' ever as well!

60' 2.200
330' 6.123
1/8 9.289@80.68
1000' 11.951
1/4 14.223@96.60

I let the car ice down for another hour then ran again. I did another healthy burnout and tried to do the same launch as before. This time I got some moderate wheelhop, but it didn't seem to effect the 60' too much.
R/T .651
60' 2.221
330' 6.073
1/8 9.216@80.17
1000' 11.870
1/4 14.123@97.36

All in all I am very happy with the times. There is more in the car. It felt a little down on power when compared to the way it sometimes pulls on the street. I think there is a high 13 in it if it runs as good as it can. Maybe next time.

Yup. I took out the spare, jack, sub box, trunk floor, and the bottom part of the back seat. Oh yeah, and about an 1/8 tank of gas.

I tried to weigh it, but the scales were not turned on.

The KDW's kick ass on the drag strip. this is the first time I have run them at the track and I got my best 60' time.

Haven't got around to getting it welded up right. It has been pushed down on the priority list right now.

I've got a 70mm TB, gutted and bored out secondaries, and mystery modded manifolds to go on first wink

Those are great times. Good luck on going 13's.

It's hard to launch these cars at the dragstrip. You have a Quaife and still can't manage a really good 60 ft time.

When I went 14.901 my 60 ft time was my best ever at 2.313 and the thing wheel hopped pretty good. I just drove through it and was rewarded.

It seems that letting these cars cool down is important to getting a fast time too.

Hey I was curious why does your car fall on its face after the 1/8th mile? I was running 81 MPH 1/8th miles with 100+ MPH in the 1/4. Just curious. I have crappy altitude here in Missouri so I was just wondering.

I could tell it was struggling a little bit in 3rd and 4th gear. My car is extremely temperamental. For the first 10 minutes I drive it, it pulls like crazy, after that it seems to struggle. I guess I just need to let it cool off longer the next time at the track. The last time at the track I had a 100 mph trap speed so it was off a little bit wink

I'm still happy since at least I have lots of room for improvement laugh
