Is it me or did the MSDS headers prove useless for him.

And I have more torque in my SE than in his SVT with headers and true duals.

No chip...

Plus I bet his A/F ratio is all messed up.

Running basically no restriction exhaust with no A/F tuning.

Also another dyno where you see the KKM lay down around 6400 (okay that may not be it, but ???)

72 degrees vs 85 degrees, plus there was very little humidity the day of his first dyno. The second dyno humidity was almost 90% and everyone except for the first people who dynoed in the morning lost power.

And as Demon pointed out, no chip & no A/F tuning. Chang does have a chip now and that really brought the car to life, can't wait to see him back on the dyno this spring.

Doesn't matter for the most part. SAE corrections...

I actually made 193HP & 174TQ on the dyno, but my correction factor was ~.98 (58 degrees & 29.95 bar)
Though it was high humidity and SAE doesn't factor that in so maybe both of us had more in the tank... laugh

Correct, SAE corrections do not figure in humidity. Humidity kills hp, no way around it regardless what the SAE corrections say.

As with previous discussions, the major exhaust flow increase, due to his different X/Y pipe configuration is most likely leaning out the motor. As it has already been stated by DemonSVT in this thread, it's the AF ratio.

One observation we have noticed is that the elimination of the 180 bend seems to be causing a lot of V6 Contours to lose torque. Most of the Contours we have seen tested in our area, with stock Y-pipes or MSDS y-pipes, show TQ levels closer to or over 160 lbsft. Contours with the rear 180 bend removed from the Y-pipe have been seen to drop to the low 150's or under. I'm not saying that this is always the case, but just an observation. However, when the 180 bend is removed and a fuel computer or tuned chip is added, then the TQ levels are very high, generally over the 160lbsft mark. That is another obersvation.

Lets see I added the 180 removed ShoShop y-pipe and gutted the pre-cats and went from 136 tq to 156 tq and went from 142 to 160 hp on a stock SE. The KKM did virtually nothing.

18 hp and 20 tq from freeing up the exhaust and removing y-pipe, running real lean 13.9 WOT.

I kindly disagree about the 180 degree bend.

Does DIN HP correct for humidity?

i dont understand the correction. i guess just to know what you could make, but the weather isnt always going to be perfect and you are going to have to deal with it at the track/street when the time comes.
