Hey all,

Most of you may have seen our first dyno results (I can email the excel spreadsheet with all the data compiled for who wants it) on a stock 1998 SVT. It pretty much produced 10HP at the wheels.

I went and dyno my car last thrusday and reaffirmed the results! I got over 10HP at the wheels on my slightly modified SVT!!!

I do not have a copy of the dyno sheets as he gave them to me on disk and the dynojet viewer is not reading the files properly (broken graph lines). But I will be heading back to the dyno shop for some printouts very over the next day or two and I will post the charts then.

The results were very impressive, I ran the dyno up to 7000rpm vs 6500rpm as most people do and noticed that the HP was not falling off (maybe 1HP) in that range! TQ figures were also impressive with gains of 7-8 along the rev range, can not remember peak gains off the top of my head.

Any questions?

Was that peak hp or somewhere in the power band?

Well, here is the dyno chart, only weird thing I noted was that dip at 4500rpm which ruined the numbers a little (an error in the dyno taking readings), otherwise that TQ increased on average 6-8 ft-lbs and HP increased 7-10HP along the rev range.

What happened when the Superchip was installed? Do you have those runs? You were showing 171hp before with the chip. I am assuming that your chip needs to be reprogrammed to match the new mods.

Chris,

I got up to 174hp and 155TQ peak with the chip and a different filter. Without the chip and and that filter I had 177HP and 152TQ Having said that I seem to be running into similar problems as you and evan are experiencing with the chip not giving me the results I expected or was getting. If you take a look at the graphs wiht the chip I do get good gains in the mid-range but as I approach 6000rpm the lines get closer and by 6250 they cross and the chip is losing me HP and TQ. It looks like the chip needs some reprogramming.

Pretty nice gains I have to say.

Is that your loud or quiet version?
Did you have a custom Y-pipe on those runs?

Dan, that was the loud version. Both systems are nearly identical however.

I had my y-pipe on there. this y-pipe was dyno proven to give me gains down low (below 5000rpm) and actually lose me HP and TQ in the high rpms. Not sure if a properly designed y-pipe (ie. mandrel bent and hence better flowing) would have netted me better results in the top end.
