I know it's probably my bushings, but does anyone know how difficult it is to replace these things with basic tools/knowledge? I'm going to replace with the higher quality aftermarket bushings that won't compress like these do. Only 72K and I need shocks and bushings! mad

Also, will I need an alignment after I replace these things? Thanks for any help!

The rear bushings are very easy to replace.
You will just need simple hand tools (socket set) and some marine grease to lube the new polyurethane bushings.

You will not need an alignment because of this. However you should probably get one anyway. Seems the front end only holds a good alignment for maybe 2 years, but that's another story.

My rear end makes a squeaky, whistling noise also. I'm pretty sure it's not my brakes. I hear the noise in 1st, 2nd, and in reverse, especially going over bumpy or hilly areas. Could this be the bushings? or what else could it be? I described the problem to a service guy and he didn't have a clue what it was. I need to figure out what the problem is before I can fix it.
