Hello All,

I ordered a set of the Roush springs to put on my car. I've decided to keep the factory struts, since I don't want to pay for Koni's right now. I'm curious to know though if anyone that has done this suspension change, or has put on the Eibach set (since they drop about the same) has had enough of a camber/caster change that they have needed the camber/caster kit from BAT.

Also, if anyone has words of wisdom to talk me into replacing struts, feel free (any reason except installation cost since I'll be doing the installation myself).

Thanks again,
Frank

Lowering on the stock struts makes the rebound horrible. Atleast it was horrible on my 98.5 and the struts only had 30k on them. I would do sturts also! IF I could do it over again I would ahve done it all at once.

Take a look in the group buy section before you do anything. suppossedly someone can get koni's with springs for $600!!! someone bought a set at that price and is installing them this week and is getting back to us with feedback. Then pricing is going to be checked into for multiple orders and I would anticipate a lot of people jumping on it

According to Roush, their springs were deisgned to be used with the factory struts. I think the roush springs for $120 is a pretty good price and putting on four Koni's is not feasable at this time. It's either leave factory or go with the KYBs. But the fact that KYB, and all the aftermarkets for that matter, don't differentiate between SVT, non-SVT, or anything. In the case of an adjustable strut, i can see how it can be adjusted for all applications, but if Ford thought it was necessary to use a different strut on the SVT than the non-SVT, I would think that one size doesn't fit all.

Quite a few opinions in this thread about the Roush springs and stock struts.
clicky
I dont see why you would need the camber/caster kit from BAT. I dont think any of the Cougar guys needed it either.

Yeah, I was keeping up with that thread, but didnt feel anyone had come to a conclusion other than the springs fit and ride different than stock.

I realize that there might be some improvement by replacing the struts, it's not known by how much.

My real concern is whether I will eat through my tires because you can't adjust the camber/caster without the kit.

Mine should be coming in this week sometime. If they are in by the weekend, they will be installed Saturday most likely. I will let you know if there is anything else needed. All I know that is NEEDED is an alignment, but that goes without saying. IIRC, the camber caster kit is needed for extereme drops, like over 2".
