Hey Everyone,

I have a chance to get SVT Springs and Struts for my 95 LX. The parts have about 20-30k on them. My question is, Is it worth putting on used struts, or just buy new? These parts are rumored to be in great condition.

Do you not recommend used struts? Keep in mind that price is the only reason I am considering this offer.

TIA,

- Zack

Well, if they are already to bolt on the car, as in assembled, without need of spring compressor, it might be worth it to bolt them on.

If you are getting loose springs and struts, I'd go with new struts so you don't pay for or do the same labor any sooner than you have to.

Of course the other question you need to ask yourself is how deep is your wallet today? wink

You say 20-30k on them? I think part of the decision lies in whether or not that number is closer to 20 or 30. My struts are in need of replacing at 60k although I did do a good amount of hauling heavy dj equipment in the car which seemed to prematurely kill them.

TIA,
Do NOT use used struts! Even if they're assembled with the springs. What's the point of going thru all this work to put used, worn and possibly damaged parts on your car? You won't know how they are until they are installed, then if they are bad or at least not as good as you expect, you have to do most of the work all over again, and spend even more money. All it takes is one bad strut to make the set not work properly. Through a group buy posted elsewhere on this site you can get Koni struts for $124.00 each. There are other new struts you can find for perhaps as low as $60.00 each if you search.
