I was about to buy some ground control coilovers for my 00 SVT. I remember seeing a post a long time ago about Honda Accord coilovers working for the SVT. Was I dreaming? When I did a search for this I couldn't find it. If anyone remembers this let me know. Also what kind of mods does it require?

Just think this is your chance to be a pioneer!
Order the honda coilovers and let us know..

PS...I really, really don't think they will fit, but if they do. You'll be a star!

Are you talking about a coilover conversion kit (threaded sleeves), or an actual threaded body damper kit?

If it's a conversion kit, there's a chance it would fit if..
- Body diameter is the same as Contour
- Spring rate is acceptable
- Spring length is acceptable
- Top hat is compatible
- Strut bearings are compatible

If it's a threaded body damper, there's a chance it would fit if..
- Body diameter is the same as Contour in the "plug" area (bottom where it goes into the knuckle)
- Body is an acceptable length.
- Plug has the correct tab.
- Pin at the top of shaft is correct dia. and length.
- Spring rate is acceptable
- Spring length is acceptable
- Top hat is compatible
- Strut bearings are compatible

..i.e. not likely but with a little fabrication everything's possible. wink

I've been looking on ebay and have found many coilovers for other cars and was also wondering if they will fit our tours too, because the prices are great starting at $69.99-$249.99 for a complete set of coilovers. I've been thinking about getting the kit for the cougar would this be okay?
