Okay, my brother has a 95 which needs new struts. I recently did struts on my 2000 Grand Prix. Total it took me about 8 hours on my GTP. The rears were a major PIA but I managed to get them ok. So, can anyone tell me if the Contour struts will be similar in installation? If so, I am going to do them myself, otherwise he is going to drop $600 for struts and installation. Thanks for helping.

Unknown as of yet, I was going to see if I could do them, otherwise I think he was going to get violated by the dealer.

it will take around ~8 hours to do the job

worth saving the money if you can do it yourself....

if you need are going with some type of aftermarket struts, shoot me an email with what you need

The rear are very easy. The front can be a pain without the right spring compressor tool. If your brother has ever had the front bearings done, everything might not be rusted up too tight. If not, air tools would make the job easier.
If front bearings have not been done, consider doing them while everything is apart. A part shop will be able to press out the old, and press in the new bearing into the knuckle for about $15 each.
If the front is rattling at all, consider replacing the front swaybar end links while you have them off too. $12.50each at http://www.fordpartsonline.com/

I have a friend that owns a shop, I can use their McPherson Strut compressor no charge. I don't mind doing bushings, but I know nothing about bearings.
