Hey all,

I am going to be swapping out my suspension soon(The beast has 115k on her! ). I just want to know what else I should buy besides struts/springs. I talked to Buckshot77 and he said that I should also look into ball joints, anything else? I just got a new tie rod end on the left side last month.

~~This is where that "I am stupid" part comes in - what are ball joints/purpose? are they on all 4 wheels?

~Yes, I am "car stupid" but no, I am NOT inbred (just thought I'd clarify that to save future explanations ).

So if you guys could help me out, it is just that when I go to the dealer and ask a question like this, all the mechanics look at me.... and then they look at each other.....and smile, and somehow, it makes me really, REALLY nervous!

The balljoints on the A arms are prone to wear but the biggest issue with those miles would be the A arm bushes.The bushes are on the subframe end of the A arm and the balljoint,also on the A arm,is at the strut end and supports the front knuckle.No balljoints on the rear....

I can tell you that at 60 k miles, my front bushes are shot. But I have the cheap ass what were they thinking vertical type, your horizontal bushes might have faired a little better (I still would replace them at your mileage...)

Oddly enough, my ball joints are pristine, but my tie rod ends exploded at 45k miles. So definately give them a look, I bet you find some play...
