I was looking at a Eibach delaer web site they list a pro kit for the Cougar MY 98-00 pro kit springs as well as dampers...will these dampers work on our cars?

If it works on the Cougar, it works on the '98-up Contour.

yes but theres 2 reasons you dont wanna buy them
1. i have heard they are cheap
2. (this being the most important) they wont be making those anymore, they are discontinued, if you blow one out, you will have to buy something different.....

The dampers are made under partnership with Sachs and another company. Sachs provides the materials and mfg, and Eibach does the development and testing to spec the valving.
I've read good reviews on this kit for VW's in "European Car." The authors did not address longevity, though, and we've heard that Sachs is less than stellar in this area. The valving is probably dead on, and the price must not be too bad, but I suppose you'd really have to weigh these factors against Sachs' involvement in the product.
