i know a couple of guys here have a setup from leda... i was wondering, i just installed a set myself a couple of days ago and the struts squeak like hell... i was wondering if this is normal or if there is something i can do to prevent the squeaking.

Yeah, mine squeak to death too.. Combine that with brake pads that squeal and it makes for a rather "musical" car!

I don't think there's a way to prevent that, it's probably the dust seals around the damper's shaft. This would not be a concern on a racecar, as such I don't think Leda cares much.

How is your setup spec'ed? Spring rates? Spring Lenght? Strut length? You like them so far?

i believe the springs are 10" the spring rates are 200lbs all around and i believe the struts are shortened bodied. so far i'm i'm loving the setup but i'm still fooling around with them to find a setting that i can keep for daily driving.

200lbs all around! eek

What strut bearings are you running at the front?

My setup is:
FRONT
11" body (2" shorter than OEM)
6" or 8" 500lb./in springs (experimenting.. )
REAR
13" body (2.5" shorter than OEM)
10" 225lb./in springs

I wouldn't run a softer spring than 500lb./in in the front.. trying to resist weight transfer under braking if you don't want to "plow" through corners..

You can see my car going from WOT to 10/10 braking in some of the SZ'02 videos. There's about 1" of "dive" under braking which provides for a very neutral car. Note that I don't have the front sway bar connected either.. laugh

I didn't buy my suspension as a "kit", I sent them my specs and we designed it according to my goals. I'm actually running the 2nd set that Leda built for me as they skrewed up my order the first time.

Hmm, I don't know what that "kit" includes.. My custom setup dampers were 407$ apeice, that didn't include springs/hats/bearings/wrenches either. Grand total was a bit over 2k$.

I have a great contact for anyone interested..

Oh, I mean, VERY interested, these folks have other things to do than spec suspensions for people just "looking around".. You know where you fit!

hmm where did you order your setup from... i ordered mine from karl over at racers edge. i don't know a whole lot about suspensions.. it was just that if i was going to lower the car and was looking for better handling i was going to do it right. i'm going to go out and measure the strut bodies but otherwise i'm using stock bearings and what not. i'm just beginning to get involved in autocross, i will only be racing a handful of times this year. but if you don't mind helping me setup up my car i'd appreciate it.

Karl is a very good man. smile I got my stuff from him too, very helpful.

When did you buy yours? We finalized my specs on Feb 15 this year. If you got them after and didn't really know what you wanted he probably cooked them up from the specs I had sent him. 3 questions:

- Did you get 24 point adjustable dampers?
- How much did they cost, 400$ apeice?
- Did you get tabs on the front dampers to bolt up the front sway bar?

i bought mine around august of last year. i did get the 24 position adjustables and i don't think i have the front tabs. i'm giving karl a call later to see how much springs will cost. i paid 1800 including shipping for the setup. just wondering is your car a daily driver?

Is this one of those "If you have to ask..." situations?
