When I was washing my car the other day I had a great idea to help decrease the rate at which our tie rods wear on extremly droped cars. Can we flip the tie rod over on to the other side of the spindle so ther eis not so much angle? Iam not sure but want ot do this soon after looking at the angle at which the half shafts and the rod is at on car.

From looking at them I think they are cone shaped and will only bolt into the Hub one way. You could probably bremel it out but you would more than likely put more strain on the Power steering setup. Not to mention the alignment issues.

yes they are cone shapped. The reason is so that as you torque the nut down the tapered pin on the tie rod seats into the housing making a tight fit.

Milling the hole to a straight bore will make for a loose fit. This will only result in problems.

Only way around tie rod issues is offset bushings for the rack to drop it as well, and not available for our car.....one of the probs with dropping our cars so far....
