What exactly is involved in lubing the bushings on the rear swaybar? Does the whole swaybar have to come off?

No, you do not remove the sway bar.

Climb underneath your car and look. It will answer all of your questions as you will then see the brackets you must remove.

If your car is lowered you might want to cheack if your emergence brake cable's are still in their grommets under the car when I lowered my car this is the problem that I had you might want to cheack that just in front of rear wheels under car good luck worked for me

Yeah. I looked under the car. I can see the two brackets I need to remove. Now...can I remove them while the car sits on a level driveway, or is there going to be some sort of spring action in the sway bar that will cause it to swing down and not let me re-install the brackets?

JAck up the car, let the wheels hang. That will take the tension off the swaybar so you can remove/reattach the lubed sway bar bushing&bracket. No need to detach the endlinks.

I backed the car up onto ramps, and just took the brackets out. No problems whatsoever.

I went to Ford and borrowed a tube of lube from the Service Advisor. It was Ford Rubber Bushing Lube...the SA told me it costs them $38 a tube (about 4 oz.) and not to use too much.

Insane price, but worked like a charm. Narry a squeak from my swaybar now. Took maybe an hour to do.
