I'm wondering if anyone has ever put ford svt coils on a non-svt tour. How did they fit? How did they perform?etc.
I've got a 98 gl v6 with very tired coils and worn out dampers. I want to replace/upgrade, but can't afford eibachs etc. I'm gonna be going with some new monroe sensitraks all the way round. Thought maybe this might be a better option than plain-jane ford oem coils.
Thanks in advance.

Your car is probably with in a few hundred pounds of an SVT so It might sit a little higehr but should work just fine.

Thanks for your feedback Lee, now I just have to price them out.

I would look for someone who's upgraded theirs already and has them on hand.

You could get a set of Roush springs for the v6 cougar for $120 shipped. They should be a direct swap for your springs, maybe a little on the sporty side, with about an inch drop. Pretty cheap compared to eibachs or the H&Rs. You will have to switch to the 98+ front struts to use those springs with a 95-97, but that is an easy thing to do if you are gonna replace the struts/springs as a set.
