The gas tank is held in by two straps with 13 or 15mm bolts. Just place a jack under the tank and lower it down maybe two inches. The bar would not clear the tank withour this adjustment in my installation.

FWIW, I did not remove or lower mine at all. After spending an hour trying to finagle the bar out, i finally just pulled like a mofo. The gas tank was nice enough to flex just enough for the old bar to pop out the passenger side and the new one to slide in from the passenger side.
Not saying I reccomend this approach, just that it worked for me.......

I did what Bruce did to get my 21mm bar in - just kept pushing and pushing, and finally that bar went up into its new home.

I don't think you even need a crow bar...unless it varies from car to car....Just jack/ramp the car up and and position the bar properly...then grab a hold of each side and SHOVE THE HELL OUT OF IT!!! Really it didn't need much force at all! Worked for me!
