Please somebody help me with this problem!!! I have a 2000 SVT only 11000 miles all stock except for a KKM True-Rev. Just last month this problem started with Jerking / Hesitation at heavy to full throttle at high rpm (starts at about 4500 RPM and continues to get worse all the way to redline). I took my SVT into the shop and they told me it was a bad pickup coil ignition unit and 6 spark plugs which they replaced under warranty. I picked up my car and that same evening the same problem occured again. Also, I don't know if it may be related but my fuel gauge is registering a little funny as well (it fluctuates up and down occasionaly). Well the second time at the dealer I took it out on the highway and duplicated the problem with the mechanic and the problem was there. The mechanic told me it is the way I drive the vehicle. He said that I cannot go heavy to full throttle in first or second gear because the car was not designed like that, this is a first to me, if anybody has had this problem or thinks that this a poor excuse not to work on the vehicle please let me know. I think I will talk to SVT to get their opinion as well. Any advice would be appreciated thanks. DJT

first off, did that mechanic talk out of his butt or his mouth? Thats the biggest crock of ---- I ever heard.
When you installed your KKM did you reset the PCM? (disconnect the negative terminal from the battery for at least 30 sec.)
If you did reset the PCM then remove the KKM and re-install the stock filter and reset the PCM again and see if the problem persists. This will identify if the KKM is at fault.
Second, it is possible that the KKM was oiled too heavily and has contaminated the MAF. IF you find the MAF is contaminated I believe it can be cleaned with throttle body cleaner, while it is removed from the viehicle. again after cleaning the MAF reset the PCM.

Change the fuel filter. Ten bucks and ten minutes. It will give you a clue, whether it helps or not. And don't go back to that mechanic.

Could be dodgy electrics to the fuel sender and pump. That would explain the dab guage and intermittent fuelling at high load
Look under the back seat and check the wiring

Make sure your climate control dial is on "Panel" or "Off". Noticed your in Miami and if you use the AC or any other setting, it will bogg the car down. (A/C Compressor Cycleing off and on) Sounds silly but some people do not realize this.

I have been having the same problem for about 2 months now. It comes and goes. This past week, until this morning, it has been with me the whole time. I think I may have picked up some bad gas (water in it or perhaps lower than 93 octane). When I go to an Amoco 12 miles away that is fairly new and add some STP Water Treatment, the problem disappears. But when it happens, it is most pronounced in first and second.

Agree with JSMith. Oil evaporated inside the MAF and on the wire that measures the air. Remove KKM and install stock box and reset computer. If this changes nothing, take your MAF off and clean carefully! Reset computer and try again! Step 2 Fuel injector cleaner/ 2 tanks! Then fuel filter replace. I skipped the sparkplug change as you already had this done. These are all inexpensive fixes and you have nothing to loose. **** Just remember, you are under waranty and can stick this problem to Ford until pigs drive contours (if you have to)

I have been noticing the exact problem with mine (I think) for about a month now.
the engine never feels like a misfire, just like the fuel gets shut off, (or vapor lock in the line) while accelerating between 4-6k RPM's.
It only manifests itself when the fuel tank is at 1/2 tank, or less. Once I fill it up, it goes away. also, the lower the fuel level, the worse the occurences.
Tried the Techron and replaced the fuel filter, with no luck. Currently it's at Ford. I saw the technician drive it in from his test drive and pull it into the bay and raise the hood, so I know he felt it.
Unfortunately, he had the "Bubba" look when he got out of the car and after looking on OASIS. I'll let you guys know what they find out.
BTW, I put in a K&N last year, but I can't remember cleaning it yet (only 19k miles)
Later, David

I am having the same problem. It is quite embrassing when your accelerating from a light, and my car starts to "buck" back, forth. Dave, please let know what FORD says.

Could be a faulty IMRC or IMRC lead.
Mine gave symptoms of lightly lifting the throttle at high rpms. Annoying and hard as hell to track down.
Definitely do fuel filter like stated.
Just recently? bad gas... My SVT would dog out on low quality premium gas (tried it ONCE! NEVER since!)
