Is it possible to fit svt springs on a pre 98 contour?

I believe that you can but it is not a direct replacement. The springs need to be trimmed. I would not reccomend spring trimming because if it is done half-assed you can end up with a dangerous car. I would go with a kit designed especially for your car. Try Eibach or BAT.

I read on another thread that the ends of the springs are different and you might either need a different strut mount or something. I know that it is not a straight swap. There is something really small thats different. Hopefully someone else remembers.

you can put SVT springs on an earlier car if you also get the later styled struts. Trust me, i have done this.
