I've had the Aussie Bar on for about a month, and it started making a clunk when the suspension is in motion (mostly on the downward movement). Is this the bracket trying to pull out of the slot?

Why yes it is!

The only fix is to buy the heavy duty weld in backing plates from Aussie. Or you could always fab some your self. Only $13 shipped from Aussie himself.

I was able to tweak the stockers so they would hold themselves in better (make sure the little hook is exactly 90 degrees, maybe a fraction more. Its harder for them to come out. However, the next problem is the one that showed itself tonite. I ripped the stocker off of the car.
