be happy that you are just blowing spark plugs out of the engine. Many of the high performance recriprocating aircract engines suffer from a phenomenom called liberation. A process which is related to detonation where entire cylinders are blown off the crankcase, either breaking the mounting studs or taking large chunks of the case with them.

hummm, is this a trend? I think tha thte reason may lie in that there is a steel sparkplug barrel threading into an aluminum head. A little dissimilar mettal corrosion and there goes the threads and pop, out comes a sparkplug.

THAT'S one of the reasons you're SUPPOSED to coat the threads of the plugs with an antisieze compound before installing

As far as the plug install goes, I installed them, with a proper coat of anti sieze and torqued to factory specs. I am still waiting on the verdict on the engine.
