What will the ride be like? I know if I were to add lowered springs I HAVE to replace the struts, but what if I keep the stock ride height and springs?
Does anyone know of aftermarket, stock length springs, or a spring manufacturer who sells to the public with variable lengths and weights? I saw BAT has some springs listed as component pieces....any other companies that are known to us?
Anyone know the stock length of 95 springs? I looked up the old table but couldn't find it.
Also, is there a how-to on the 24mm Sway Bar? Is there a website for Terry's company that is not listed?
Thanks,
Ed

Dont think you can get the Koni's in the 'early' 95 'beehive' type spring seat arrangement.

Guess someone covered my questions in some archived forum thread? Or maybe my question is dumb since I want to keep a stock ride height? Or maybe nobody has any experience with adding upgraded struts to stock springs?
Whatever the case may be, at least flame me for my stupid question. But let it be known that I am doing my own homework and ask questions that I am not finding answers to else where.
Thanks.

Or maybe nobody has any experience with adding upgraded struts to stock springs? Not a common upgrade. It would work though. Also, is there a how-to on the 24mm Sway Bar? Sure, but I think they're in the performance forum. The suspension forum wasn't around when people were installing them. Here is a good post on the bar from the mailing list archives. What compenent springs are you talking about on BAT's page? The sport spring sets? Or the "coil springs"? The former would work, the later are for their coilover conversion kit.

Perry:
The springs I'm taking about on the BAT catalog are the ones on page 15--yep, "coil springs". Does anyone know the length of our stock springs in relation to the the measurements we'd be able to order or buy -- i.e unsprung, universal measurement.
I mean they recommend a range of lengths (8"-9"F 10"-10 1/2"R) for the Contour as guidelines, but I'm sure someone has a spec out there at their fingertips.
Also, does anyone know the conversion factor for the newton/meter measurement given on the FAQ for the springs to lbs/ft given on BAT? I think I asked this on another thread but lost where it went. I guess I could use search huh?
Thanks for all your help.

I'm running stock 95 SE springs (cut down) with adjustable Koni's. Yes, I did all the work myself. Do you wish some more info.?
Technical Director/Co-Owner Performance Fords-check out our new throttle body service 95 SE with lots of custom 1 off mods. All design, fabrication and installation by owner.

To pull our dialogue to one topic:
Did you try the Koni Struts without cut springs? How did it ride? What were the major differences in ride between the cut and stock springs, if you did use that setup. While this may seem an obvious question, did you regret the change in spring rate, or do you wish you had used full, higher rate springs? (i.e 95 cuts vs. full length 400#)
Also, I can't tell for sure if I would have to remove the transaxle to do the swap. I'll check the Haynes, but it appears that with just enough play they will come out to the side and up. But that's with the worn ones, I bet the new ones will require more play. I really hope that it doesn't require transaxle disengagement, 'cause I don't want to deal with it. It does appear that the inside collars are non-existent on the front sway bar. At least one outside collar seems to be there. I'll check the manual out for that too.
Thanks,
Ed
