Anyone else with a SHOShop Y pipe had their CE light come on post-install? My error code is PO420 -- "low cat efficiency." Grr! Maybe I'll re-boot the EEC and try again.

Installed the stainless SHO y-pipe w/ cat along w/ a Borla cat back. Never saw the check engine light come on in my E0.

However, the instruction CLEARLY state to disconnect the battery during install to clear the EEC-V module.

Maybe the CEL light gets tripped on SHO pipes WITHOUT a cat due to insufficient back pressure? Toyotas are known for doing this.

I believe the O2 sensors can only determine pre-cat efficiency. Hopefully the reset will help out, but it may be worth checking the (lower) O2 sensor connectors. Maybe something got unhooked or a wire cut during the y-pipe install.

You were careful with the second bank O2 sensor you had to R&R correct? (Like not letting it hang from it's wiring, smack the sensing end, clean it with anything, etc)

That would be my guess for why you got the CEL. A big leak right at the flange might do it??? Theoretically...

Hmm...thanks for the tips.
I reset the EEC - same thing happened.
I know there's no leaks because the guy that welded it in was anally careful.
Maybe the cat is bad? I side with the O2 sensor guess - it probably got damaged during the Y pipe installation. But isn't the O2 sensor upstream of the cat, so how could it determine if the cat was operating "efficiently" or not?

The only cat readings are done off of the pre-cats in the manifolds. Barring any leaks, i'd guess at O2 sensor replacement time.
