Some potential ideas, depending on your wallet:

1. taking off the door ding strips
2. side marker lights
3. shaving the radio antenna in favor of a VW style roof mount antenna
4. having the chrome trim ring on the grill painted body color.

Hope this helps....hey come to the meet Saturday if you can.

yeh, i think the side markers and ding strips are looking like the most feasible things right now. any ideas on where to get the sidemarkers and what kind? im still not sure if i like how the grill ring looks when painted or not. i will try for saturday, if i can get off work i will be there for sure. i have never been to one with you guys. it would be nice to meet some of you.

Most of the side markers I have seen are actually from a late model audi A4. Their mounting shaft have to be trimmed down some, but your body shop could probably do that for you. Other places to get sidemarkers include Nopi.com or your local rice shop (not saying that sidemarkers are rice, just saying that import shops tend to have several styles...just leave the triple decker aluminum wing on the shelf) wink

aawww! no triple decker wing? i guess that means i have to drop plans for the hood lights, valve stem lights and exhaust tip with lights too. oh well. J/K. ya know, come to think of it i do have a FUBA antenna (the kind used on VWs) laying around here not getting used....maybe ill see how much they want to shave the stock one.

Good deal. Alan (extreme lx) will be there at the meet Saturday, and he's a body man by trade. He put a fuba on his tour and it turned out really nice. He'll be able to give you some pointers/make suggestions. Both he and Ryan are good at shows/aesthetic detail, and seeing that they both drive award winning tours, they'll be a good resource for you if you can make it up to the meet! We'll start getting there around 4:30, so if you leave WR by 3 or 3:30, you'll make it with no probs.

I agree with John. Remove the door ding moulding.

I painted my chrome grill ring and i like the look. And also maby a nesh treatment on the grills.
And i kinda like the Bullit gas door.

I also painted the insert on the rear bumper the same color as the rest of my car. But i dont like it, so im gonna paint it back semi gloss black. Looks better that way to me.

What i would if i were you is to have the body shop paint the bumper all one color. And try it out for a few weeks. If you dont like it you can always repaint the semi gloss back your self.

I look foward to meeting you Saturday, come on up it will be a good time!!!!!!!! :p laugh eek smile

i already have the bullit door on my car, and mesh is on the way from aussie. i think the door dings are going to come off when its in the shop. and im pretty sure im not going to get the black part on the rear bumper painted. i am going to find out how much it will be to shave the power antenna and put in the FUBA and maybe get the grill ring painted. do you guys think the grill ring would look better painted or chrome with aussies mesh? also, alan how much do you think it would run to get that FUBA job done?
EDIT: i am hoping i can get off work to come up saturday. i will know for sure by tomorrow.

Definitely paint the trim ring...especially if aftermarket wheels/suspension may be in your future....changes the whole look to a more agressive appearance at the front.

Hope you can make it on Saturday. laugh
