I'm planning to de-badge and Knauberize my car this weekend. I'd like to remove the front FORD emblem. I haven't even looked at it yet but I have a sneaking suspicion that there's more to it than simply unscrewing it from the back.

By the way, I drove my new SVT for the first time today. Holy crap, I'm in love.

On my 95 (which may differ from yours, but not by much I believe) you have to undo the little grill insert that holds the emblem. That's done by removing two screws that hold in in place (lift the hood and you'll see them) the emblem itself is held onto that by two regular screw nuts (cheap ones, but nuts anyways). Simply unscrew them and there you go. Unfortunately, if you remove the Ford emblem, you have a Ford emblem shaped surface underneath. In other words, the grill is designed to hold that emblem. Go ahead and see for yourself, it's easily reversible.
Someone once posted the idea of then modifying the emblem itself, which I think can be done, but it's a small well glued together little thing.
Good luck!

We don't have the grille insert. The rest is the same.
