I was tired of looking at the CEG forums and NOT seeing a GA branch. So I emailed lkinley laugh and started one. Please post a msg if you live in GA. I would like this forum to be a place that CEGers in GA can use for meets, to sell stuff, advice, etc. Post away!!

Ummm, sorry Perry. I just figured an "official" GA branch in the forums would be appreciated. When I emailed Lance, he immediately created this forum and made me one of the moderators, so I guess there *WAS* a need for one. Sorry I screwed up your forums so bad, being that I'm a newbie and all.

OK, I really didn't want this forum to be only for flames. Let's just leave it open for a couple of weeks and see what happens. If we really DON'T need this forum, then we'll let it die out on it's own, OK? Sorry for trying to create something that I thought would help out some people....

Hey, Perry, who the heck died and made you god of the Southeast Contour enthusiasts? Who do you think you are anyway? I remember when you and your buddies showed up to the hooters get together that Brad planned. You guys really had no interest in meeting other folks. You had your own agenda and didn't really listen to other people..you guys really tried to take over the whole day and then when we didn't want to go do what you guys wanted to do, you didn't even hang out very long...you split to some junk yard. How rude. And remember when you guys came up to the drag strip before the Ferrari Challenge...all you guys could do was tell me what I was doing wrong. Hardly a help, you know? It was actually a real downer. If you guys knew so much then why weren't you racing? Ever think of that? Ever think that anyone else could actually get together and use these boards as a forum, whether or not they were part of the "official" SE CEG? I think its cool to have a Georgia Board. If you don't like it, don't post there. Don't be a jerk man. I mean really, it doesn't matter.

Oh and that email list is not a good thing to use for people who are outside your little contour clique. Too many inside jokes, flames, and cryptic messages to be of any worth to folks.

I say the more places to post the merrier. I appreciate a new Georgia board. Get a grip. That was really rude to post like you did and come down on this dude.

No hard feelings, but you really need to check yourself on the whole "official" SE CEG crap. I think it actually hurts enthusiasm to be closed minded.
Later.

Well, the thing about it Perry is that you guys came off like know it alls at the drag strip. I did appreciate the advice, but I was icing the intake before you guys got there. And the reason I ran a better time was due to a good launch as much as it was your suggestions. I mean I tried to talk to JVT about his car, but its like he didn't hear me. None of you guys heard me. You just came off like "Man, your car would be so much faster if you did this and this like I did." You may not have realized it or intended to, but that's what happened. I didn't argue with you about pushing the car, but I didn't ask you to either. And I said thanks too. It was nice and I did appreciate it. But I was really disappointed that you guys were telling me to do all this crap and you didn't even race yourselves. It was like you guys were at a car show critiquing my car and you weren't listening to a word I had to say anyway.

As for the "officialness" of the SE CEG, you may not realize it, but you really do give off an air of superiority about the whole meet thing. I guess you probably didn't mean to, but that was the impression you gave to me and to others. We could tell you were dissatisfied with the meet, but some folks thought it was rude the way you guys took off to the ford place while people were still eating. The organizer was just trying to please everyone. Hell, we wanted to do something else besides hang in the parking lot, but we couldn't get a consensus from anyone about where to go. Guess that's what happens with a large group. Jetting didn't exactly foster good feelings with those that planned the event when you guys took off and blew us off.

I guess my point is that I know you are heavily involved with contour enthusiasts, but sometimes I think that enthusiasm is misguided. Like here....I really thought it was rude the way you informed this guy about the SE forum. There is a way to handle that message in a softer manner.

No offense, because I know you probably don't mean to, but you can sometimes come off like a jerk, but hey so can I (and probably already have). No hard feelings, man, but I just wanted to make you aware about how you can come off on the boards, and occasionally in person. Sorry for the confusion on the last post.

Just so you know, Perry, here are some facts:

-- I DID know there was a SE forum before I asked Lance to create a GA one; I just figured the GA SPECIFIC things could go in a new GA forum and the SE stuff more in a general forum

-- I've been reading the forums and mailing list for over a year, so I'm not such a newbie after all. I didn't join because I never had anything to say -- until now.

Hope you'll drop this stupid flame war because I never intended for this forum to piss anyone off as much as it obviously has you.

Hey Shawn, I'd like to get a meet together at your shop...maybe a dyno day if Tim dosen't mind...will his dyno work for FWD cars? Would you be willing to open up on a Saturday Shawn? Maybe you could get some focus guys from focaljet to come too.

I'd like a dyno tune anyway...maybe we can guinea pig my car for a diablo chip and a 65mm TB...I could spring for the chip and a used TB & MAF if you help me tune it or something...could be a good meet for all interested in the 65 TB mod. Whadaya think?
