Hey everyone,
Just wanted to mention how nice it was to drive the Contour on it's first time out on the open road with it's new owners. My girlfriend and I went to Six Flags (rocked except the freakin X ride was close... damnit!!)

I can't get over how nice and smooth the ride was, yet the handling is so tight and agile. It has the stock hubcaps and puny 14 inch wheels and tires, too... can't imagine what it would feel like with even the stock 15's and meatier tires, let alone a performance setup.

It just sips gas, has lots of pep, and most importantly, never coughed once during the long trip, it was flawless.

Her previous car didn't have cruise control (95 Probe), but the Pimptour does, and that really helped keep my feet rested during the long drive. We really had a good time, I just let the car do the driving, and we talked and had a blast.

96 Contour GL. 2.0L, MTX. Just purchased at 100,000 miles. Runs like it has 1,000 miles. Bone stock, but hopefully not for long...

yes the contour has a great ride. my car has almost exclusively highway miles on it and it is incredibly smooth. even at speed it's almost deceiving how fast it's going because of how smooth it is. I love my SVT and couldn't imagine getting rid of it until the new EVO's come out in January-ish. Then I could imagine it. wink
Good choice on the tour.
