Hey guys, how is Glendale, AZ? Ghetto? Nice? Crime ridden? Snobby? I'm looking at a PA (physician assistant) school there called MidWestern (it's a branch). Any info appreciated. smile
P.S. Tom, you're in Med school, right? Wanna employ me when you're out? laugh

Glendale is a real good area. I think that it is one of the more affluent areas in Arizona.

If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Well, I wouldnt call it more affluent than say... chandler... but all in all Glendale is a nice town. Good school districts. It's an older town as far as Arizona goes. It's just like most areas: some good parts, some bad parts. The building isn't as fast and furious (nod to the ricers) as it is in other places in the valley. Glendale cops are some of the worst though. But I suppose from a resident standpoint that's good right? Keeps the crime down. Glendale has that law that if you are 25 over the speed limit you go right to jail, no passing go, no collection of the $200. I like Glendale, I'd consider buying a house there. I'd be happy to point out some of the nicer areas of Glendale if need be. Looking to buy a house or rent an apt? I live right on the border of Glendale/Phoenix. I went to school at Apollo High which is in Glendale so ask any specifics and I'm sure i'll be able to answer them.

I'm not as familiar with it as Ryan is, but there are definitely places you want to avoid (can't remember which, though). On a positive side, you'd be another CEGer on the W. half of Phoenix (so far Po-Jay and I are the only ones).

Yah, but like what has been said before Glendale is like anywhere else.. There are some good parts and some parts where you just roll up your windows, lock the doors and drive thro as fast as possible laugh

Just a peice of advice... It is cheaper to buy a new house than to rent an apartment, out here. Move out in the deep West-Side and watch the appreciation dollas roll in!

It's one of those "it takes money to make money" things...if I'm paying 20K a year for school (i.e. loan time) I don't think I'll be able to afford another loan. Or, I don't think a bank would want to give me a loan. Bank - "Let's see, you're paying 20k a year for school for two years, and you don't have a job, and you want to borrow more money?" laugh I agree, though, buying would be ideal.

Derk- nice thing about Glendale is that there ALL ranges of apt prices. It goes anywhere from $350 a month...yuck....to well over $1000. You can get a super nice apt in Glendale. Let me know whereabouts the school is located and I can give you some apt names and numbers in the area. The west valley isn't like the east valley as far as night life is concerned but it should be cheaper and that sounds like what you are looking for.

and Darryl, how dare you! I'm west valley too. Not quite as west as you but still considered west.
