I am fairly certain my SVT frontend is in need of repair. Would like another SVT owner to drive my car and compare the response to their own SVT. Since I have had the problem from the get-go, and have never driven another SVT, I really don't know if the condition is normal. Left it with a dealer recently, they kept for three or four days, put 14 miles on it, and said they could not find a problem. I am looking for a little validation on the problem and maybe some help in describing the problem. I have the Ford premium extended warranty ($50 ded), but I don't think Ford is motivated in finding the problem. If anybody can help me with this, let me know ... Thanks, Russ

Fords extended warranty is only good for motor, tranny, and paint.

From my experience of dealing with alot of dealerships - they only care about a paying customer.

Get another shops opinion after going to Ford.

Actually, depending on the warranty, it may be covered. "Wear" items like the clutch and brakes are not, but everything else (On mine...Platinum Warranty) may be. Take it to John Griffith @ Pioneer on 75th ave and I-10. He will get you straight. I gaurentee it. I know that it is a haul from you, but it is worth it. wink

Jason, sounds like you have had good luck at Pioneer. I am going to try them. Actually, my warranty covers about everything. It has a short list of things not covered. If I drive over a sizable bump, such as a rounded curb, forward or backward, the noise is very loud (clunk). Also experience a loud noise when making hard right turns at slow speeds, like when pulling into a parking spot, with or without brake applied. Sort of a groaning noise. Also, loud noise after going from reverse to forward. Sometimes I wonder if last problem is a result of brake recalibration during reverse (old cars used to self-adjust in reverse). I also have this annoying wha-wha noise while driving. No shaking, steers straight, just an irritating resonance adding a lot of cabin noise. Have new front brakes and rotors turned. Previous owner got a four wheel alignment.

Russ, I'm no expert, but I've seen others complain of these symptoms and the common consensus seems to be wheel bearings.

I spoke to John Griffith today (I was picking up a "special" part.. heheheh). He said that you contacted him about the problem. I told him to give you the "Treatment"... wink
I think that D might be on to something though. Keep us filled in.
