i know this may be a pipe dream, but i was hoping that i wasn't the only person out there who has thought of this. I want to put the focus six speed into my svt, what would be some of the concerns with fitting it up. new bellhousing for sure, clutch? flywheel? drive axles? there has to be a way laugh i'm not looking for price quotes or anything, just the compatibility of this transmission with my car and the feasability of a project like this. c'mon guys i know you have thought about this. looking for input from the more knowledgeable CEG'ers.

Swapping the guts can be done. However, I think Terry stated that the ratios for it wouldn't be good for much more than the stock five speed. Cool shift gate though smile

Also internals are only rated for alittle over 200hp.

what's up with ford wussy transmissions?they know people are going mod the cars why don't they make it a little easier?what all can you do to a tranny to make it handle more power?

Word Ive heard is the turbo Focus RS used the MTX-75 because it had higher tourque capacity than the 6-speed. Also note that the 6 speed has 2 overdrive speeds (instead of one)...basically ratios are not much closer than MTX-75 but an extra overdrive for low RPM cruising. This equals no performance benifit..
