How you guys doin? Darrel, sorry to hear about your Grand Dad. Sounds like you had some good moments with him. I used to love to fish with my Grand Dad. To my parent's chagrin, he told me cute little dirty jokes if I swore to secrecy. Somethin a Grand Dad can do. I'm a little scared right now. My wife's 95SE is at a tranny shop getting diagnostics on a hard shift into second. Haven't heard anything for two days. She loves her car but getting a little disappointed over the repair costs. Hopefully the problem is something electronic and not internal part degradation.

Thanks, man. Unfortunately, these things happen. On a different note, I'm afraid I don't know much of anything about ATX. Been a stick guy all my life. From what I understand, worst case scenario would be torque converter...does that sound right?

Don't know ... we'll see. Just changed out a Chevy 350 tranny for less than $500, complete with installation. I hear numbers like $1200 to $2000 for contour ATX's. If that Duratec is good shape, and I think it is, maybe worth the bucks, but then again, what choice to I have.

The unfortunate thing I have noticed about these cars is normally expensive repairs become really expensive repairs on the 'tour. Good luck with it and keep us informed.
