I think most figured that the Duratec could take the SC with few if any issues, but there were more than a few worried about what it could potentially do to the MTX-75 (more precisely, the diff.).

Sorry to hear about the incident, Brad. Best wishes and get her back up and running.

The fear of something like this happening is one of the reasons I opted to buy an old 5.0 Mustang to modify instead of supercharging the Contour.

Not to mention that blowing a transmission or engine on a 5.0 is a much less expensive mistake than on the Contour..

Almost certain it was a spun bearing which wouldn't be SC related in any way, rather, the lack of oil. It could, however, have been related to the 110-115 MPH speeds we were running for 10+ minutes while playing with a new WRX, along with the 130+ MPH blast it took to show the WRX who was boss. Trapps said I flew by at a pretty good rate and he had 110-115 still showing on his speedo. I don't know for sure how fast I was going as the speedo only goes to 130 and it was much past that hitting the peg...

I will keep you all informed when I get a chance to get the pan off.

BTW, thanks to all who contributed to the "Most expensive broken parts" award. The attendees raised over $400 to help me pay 2/3 of the transport bill home on the U-haul and trailer... Thanks everyone, especially Trapps for the 4+ hours of running me all over MI looking for an available truck and trailer to rent...

I have always wondered why the SVT is more prone to spinning bearings / eating engines than the non-SVT. A long while back I wondered if the oil cooler add-on on the SVT might eat up some oil volume or hinder oil flow.

Any chance that tapping into the oil gallery for the supercharger may have a similar effect or am I just HOC?

Glad to hear you made it home okay, good luck with the rebuild. Any thoughts of a S/C 3.0????
