That worries the crap out of me, anyone that has been out to Road America or seen it on T.V. knows that there is a right hand carosel you know a long U shaped sweeping right hander. I am planning on taking a driving school in my SVT this summer. Is there anyway to keep that from happening? Any additives? That would really piss me of my buddy in his 944 wouldn't stop laughing at me if I blew a motor during driving school.

"Is there anyway to keep that from happening?"
A baffeled oil pan worked for Bondurant and Team Contour race cars. I believe the Mirko pan would work for us but its expensive and we dont have many people using them yet. Hoping for less expensive options.
This thread does allieviate my Mobil One fears though. I guess several failures were using other brands.

This Baffled oil pan may cost may be expensive, but really, does it cost more than replacing a blown motor?

How many people with blown engines, and destroyed differentials, race their vehicles in some way? I always like the ones that complain about it happening, and list their 1/4 mile times in their sig. I've been using Mobil 1, but only for 10K miles now... ------------------ Joey 2000 SVT Black #1811 of 2150 MODERATOR www.svtperformance.com If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them.

I always like the ones that complain about it happening, and list their 1/4 mile times in their sig. I think it depends on how someone treats their engine. If someone constantly beats on their car of course it's going to blow; it's just a matter of time. However I don't think the 1/4 mile time has anything to do with it. In order for the 1/4 mile to blow their engine, it would have to be constant use, and that probably ain't gonna happen. Running a car at a track is an occasional thing, and is perfectly acceptable when figured into how long the engine's life span should be. FastCougar has said that he totally abuses his car (or something to that effect... i would check but neco is down yet again), and he hasn't blown any engines, trannys, or motor mounts... Granted he doesn't have an SVT engine but it's still a duratec... And i would think it SHOULD be less racing-friendly than the SVT engine. ------------------ ~nick Two cougars: (1) 2000 Black ATX V6 Carbon Fiber Dash Kit, Black Sidemarkers, Painted Hubcaps (2) 2001 Zinc Yellow MTX V6 - Zn Edition KKM, Dual Borla Carbon-Fiber Tips, Throttle Hang fix, Pioneer/Phoenix Gold system [This message has been edited by ov3n (edited April 21, 2001).]
