Just select the areas you want to change, and then copy and paste onto a new layer, then go to image>adjust> and mess around with hue saturation, brightness/contrast, and color balance. If it gets dull take out the dodge tool, put it on highlights and go over the dark areas.

I am leaning towards the silver to black to tangerine...but will do the underbelly the same instead of leaving black.....
Just call me Judge. People suck. Life begins at 170mph...until that point it is just boring.....

Here is an easier way, Duplicate optimesed, choose paintbrush and color, color the thing grey, then use vivid, and the color you want,set the brush at about 10% and go over the object again and again until it looks right. Then with the close stamp tool just draw the new colors over the original picture (sounds complicated but is actually faster after the first time, right now most of my stuff takes between 5 and 15 minutes, these bikes were about 5-10 minutes each)

okay I am with you till the vivid point, I dont see it anywhere..???? not to be pain but I also dont see the close stamp, clone I see but when I clone from the first pic, of course it doenst go into color of choice.
