http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/new_s_type/s_99uk_40_l.jpg Check out that CRAZY oil pan! I can't tell if it has the DMD, either. That black cam cover seems to be plastic. Also, I have no idea what goes on that hole on the top of the UIM. Some kind of selenoid for a butterfly valve? And, UIM is metal while the LIM is plastic! Looks like it would insulate the UIM from heat fairly well.

Wow.. you are right! VERY nice..
I am stumped to the hole, but will likely reside in your theory.
I think it has the DMD, but wouldn't be ab;e to tell from that picture, either..
Hopefully more pics of these beauties come out, soon!

Do you know how much HP that's throwing? In S-Type 240 HP. In X-type 231 HP. I read it was going up to 250 HP or so, this year or next. And, a supercharged version is in the works..

I think they used plastic on the other valve cover to elliminate a radiant heat source from under the intake.
The box on the front of the oil pan looks to be where the pickup is so it probably helped in getting more oil to the system quickly, but would definitely interfer with the Contour subframe.
I think I finally see what Terry is talking about with the direct acting buckets. There aren't any lifter arms etc.
The waterpump is cam gear driven on the front and for our use the cam cover would have to be changed along with the oil pan. An eletric Waterpump is a must. The only question this brings up is are the 3.0 blocks universal so that there are provisions for rear pump and front pump? Cover plates etc?
The lower intake looks exactly the same as my 3.0 Taurus peice, at least from what I can see.
Ideal setup (Non-boost): Jag Long block ST220 UIM Taurus LIM 24Lbs. Injectors 2.5 Valve covers (if they work?) 2.5 SVT Oil Pan 2.5 Timing chain cover DMD if not already present.

Oil filter doesn't seem to be in the "traditional" location either.
