hey just wanted to keep u all updated, heres a very rough idea of what the tails will be like. welding the whole taillight area closed, and getting rid of that stupid unfinished vertical weld that we all have under the taillights. everything will be smoooooooooooothe and the custom l.e.d. taillights will be flush mounted and clearcoated over. ill post more pics soon.

PATIENCE people, patience:) some unexpected things happened that delayed the whole project, such as the water pump, idler pulley, my front air struts were lost in shipping, etc... anyway, im in the middle of locating a shop to move into, and joe (the bodyguy) is a perfectionist who believes in doing the job right, and ya cant rush a job that you want to be perfect. i'm hoping to have it back within 3 weeks. i added a few things to his "to do" list which i will surprise everyone with when the car is finished. the wait is killing me, especially on beautiful days, so im hoping it rains a lot for now. in the end though, it will have been worth the wait.

I keep hearing about the "unfinished vertical weld" that our cars have under the tail lights. I looked at my car and couldn't find what you guys are talking about. Do you have any pics of it before you shaved it off? I'm no body shop guy, I'm just curious about what you are talking about.

i dont think i have any closeup pics of the vertical weld, but maybe you dont have one. my car is an early 98 mystique and that weld/groove has always annoyed me. mine was below each taillight on the curve of the car, it went from the light to the bumper line. but it is all gone now
